When Will Jesus Return?

Hebrews 9:28 So Christ was once offered to bear the sins of many; and unto them that look for him shall he appear the second time without sin unto salvation.

Jesus will return a second time. But, When?

2 Thessalonians 2:1-10
Now we beseech you, brethren, by the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, and by our gathering together unto him, That ye be not soon shaken in mind, or be troubled, neither by spirit, nor by word, nor by letter as from us, as that the day of Christ is at hand. Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first [apostasy or abandonment of one's religion] and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition; Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God. Remember ye not, that, when I was yet with you, I told you these things? And now ye know what withholdeth that he might be revealed in his time. For the mystery of iniquity doth already work: only he who now letteth will let, until he be taken out of the way. And then shall that Wicked be revealed, whom the Lord shall consume with the spirit of his mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of his coming: Even him, whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders, And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved.

Let's take a look at this passage:
We see that this passage is about Christ's coming and His elect being gathered to Him. Paul says not to be shaken or troubled that the day of Christ is at hand. He then explains what must happen before that day. Many churches today teach that Christ will return at any moment, but Paul states that the return will be at a certain time.

When is that time? When the man of sin is revealed. The final antichrist. The man who sits in the temple and says that he is the one true God. There is a doctrine being taught today that God's elect will not be around when the antichrist sits in the temple. It is being taught that "
he who now letteth will let, until he be taken out of the way" is the Holy Spirit and the man of sin won't be revealed until the Holy Spirit is removed. Paul said that (1)"he" will be taken out of the way, (2)then the Wicked shall be revealed, (3)then Christ shall return and gather His elect. Christ will not return and gather His elect until the man of sin is revealed. The Wicked will not be revealed until "he" is moved out of the way. So, how can the Holy Spirit be the "he" if Christ doesn't gather His elect until the Wicked is revealed when the Wicked won't be revealed until "he" is taken out of the way? The "he" can not be the Holy Spirit. Jesus said "I am with you always, even unto the end of the world." ~Matthew 28:20.

Acts 3:20-21
And he shall send Jesus Christ, which before was preached unto you: Whom the heaven must receive until the times of restitution of all things, which God hath spoken by the mouth of all his holy prophets since the world began.

This passage tells us that Jesus must remain in heaven until it's time to restore all things. That means Jesus will not be returning to gather His elect, restore all things for the antichrist, and then go back to heaven only to return after seven years to destroy the antichrist.

Matthew 24:21-22
For then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be. And except those days should be shortened, there should no flesh be saved: but for the elect's sake those days shall be shortened.

Jesus says this after He speaks about the abomination of desolation standing in the holy place. Seven verses after this He says:

Matthew 24:29-31

Immediately after the tribulation of those days shall the sun be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken: And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory. And he shall send his angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other.

Mark 13:24-27
But in those days, after that tribulation, the sun shall be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, And the stars of heaven shall fall, and the powers that are in heaven shall be shaken. And then shall they see the Son of man coming in the clouds with great power and glory. And then shall he send his angels, and shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from the uttermost part of the earth to the uttermost part of heaven.

Jesus said He would return after the abomination of desolation. After the tribulation. For the elect's sake He will cut it (the tribulation) short.
